Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

March 19, 2020

NSCC has taken significant steps to follow guidance set forth by the CDC, health experts, and local governments.  We are dedicated to the health and well being of our clients and staff.  The majority of our clinical staff are providing telehealth sessions from their homes.  Our Medication Clinic is fully functioning providing telehealth session and prescription refills.  Our main office is working with reduced hours and staff.

We have seen an increase in calls for our services and are responding to you as best we can.  We are implementing Intake telehealth sessions to accommodate the need.  Please contact us at (978) 922-2280 or use our on-line form to request an intake session.

If you are feeling anxious or uncertain - you are not alone - we are here for you, and we all will get through this together.

Stay safe, practice social distancing and common sense precautions.

March 14, 2020

Last week we saw the coronavirus outbreak be declared a worldwide pandemic; saw states and our federal government declare states of emergency; and saw unprecedented changes to American life.  These events are having an impact on our daily lives as we have not seen in modern history.  Anxiety and stress levels are rising and NSCC will be here with you as we go through these changes together.  Please keep in mind that medical experts are saying that roughly 80% of people who may become infected will not require hospitalization and will recover with no medical treatment.

The safety and well-being of our clients and staff is our top priority.   Currently, there is no vaccine or specific cure for COVID-19.  Medical experts are recommending “common sense” precautions be taken to slow the spread of the virus.  These precautions are no different than those recommended during any cold and flu season.

Our Front Desk staff will be wiping down surfaces with disinfectant wipes hourly, or as often as feasible.  Hand sanitizer is available while supplies last.  We are asking our staff to wipe down their offices after each session, or as often as feasible.  Tissues are readily available for any who need them.  Shaking hands in greeting or farewell should be avoided – a wave or a warm “hello” would be better.

We strongly encourage any client or staff member who is not feeling well or exhibiting symptoms of illness to stay home.  Medical experts are suggesting a 14-day self-quarantine period if you feel you may have contracted COVID-19.  If you develop shortness of breath, we suggest you contact your PCP right away for medical advice.  During this time, we will be waiving No-Show and Late Cancellation charges if it is due to a potential illness.

If you feel that you feel that your personal health situation puts you in a higher risk category and you are concerned about coming into our offices, please talk to your therapist.

We are adopting a telehealth platform that will allow your therapist to provide therapy to you via a secure, HIPAA compliant video conferencing service if necessary.  Telehealth will be available from any device (PC, laptop, tablet, or cell phone) that has an internet connection and a web browser.  Speak to your therapist if you are interested in this option.

We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
